Why patience is a superpower
I’m a fan of Oliver Burkeman apparently - he’s appeared in this membership before. You might remember his book Four Thousand Weeks from a few months back - a meditation on how we might live our 4,000 weeks most meaningfully.
This talk reminds us that some things take the time that they take. There’s no use to pushing or forcing or rushing something; some things require our patience.
And in a world that moves FAST - one that we’re increasingly aware and part of as social networks and media stretches us across this fast paced world in the way it does these days - patience is an act of rebellion.
Patience can be deeply uncomfortable. It can be hugely challenging. There is a pain involved - but one that might be worth experiencing, as we learn to surrender into the present, rather than racing into the future.
I’m not going to race to soundbites and summarise this talk for you - take time to listen.
