There are four pillars of the project:

CONVERSATION: built through sector specific networks, hosted by a venue or institution of significant artistic importance, we will meet (in person and also online) to share experiences, build a profile of the extent of the problems, and devise solutions that could make the juggle easier for mothers across the arts.

COMMUNITY: we are better in community with others - to share the load, share the difficulty, share the joy. We will build community through events, performances, talks, and parties that enable us to come together and work collaboratively, sensitive to each others needs as woman, mother and professional.

COACHING: we need to reevaluate stories of what it means for a woman with a family to succeed - personally, professionally, and in society. Coaching will offer precious time and space to work out what that looks like. We will also work with organisations to raise awareness and increase opportunities for greater inclusion and a more diverse sector.

CAMPAIGN: we are creating a movement for change, from the grassroots up. Many of the challenges experienced are invisible, steeped in wider problems around childcare, competitive arts markets and often outdated and misogynistic expectations of ‘success’. We will redefine success so that women have an equitable opportunity to succeed - and join with others aiming for the same.

The project will become a Community Interest Company with its own website and platform later in 2024 - and stay as a sister organisation to MAMA Coaching.
